From Bedridden to Badass
Jamie Mentzer did not set out to build a training company. He set out to get his life back.
A back injury changed everything. It put him in bed, and the painkillers meant to help became a dependency of their own. Add the emotional setbacks that come with losing the life you had, and he was a long way from the person he wanted to be.
What changed
There was no single breakthrough. What changed was the approach. Instead of waiting to feel better, Jamie started measuring: his breath, his heart rhythm, his brain activity, and later what his own lab results showed about how his body was running. Then he practiced, a few minutes at a time, and watched the numbers.
Learning to regulate his own state came first. Fuel came second: finding out what his body was short on instead of guessing with another bottle. Put together, the two gave him something he had not had in years, which was a way forward he could see.
Why he teaches it
Jamie says it plainly: if I can do it, anyone can. He became an ICF-certified coach, built BioFlow.Pro to teach state training with real-time feedback, and built FlowFuel.Pro so people could stop guessing about what their body needs.
From Bedridden to Badass is the name he gave the challenge that came out of that time. It is also a fair description of the trip.
Hear it from him
Jamie tells the story in his own words in the video library, including a short founder backstory and a full-length interview.
